Salmon fishing season begins on the Fane River on the 1st of April, it runs on through the summer months and ends on the 12th of October. It is recommended during these hot times that anglers wear protective sun glasses and sun screen as the glare of the river could damage eyes.


Sea-trout season on the river Fane stars on the 1st of April also but ends on September 30th. Members are not allowed to use ground bait when fishing for sea-trout or salmon.

Competition dates for this year are (2011):

Salmon:
Saturday 3rd of September, 10am-6pm @ Gloria's Yard.
Sunday 4th of September, 10am-6pm @ Gloria's Yard.

Sea Trout:
Sunday 10th of July, 10am-6pm @ the Car-park.
Friday 15th of July, 7pm-1am @ the Car-park. (Not open to Juveniles)

Juvenile:
Gerard Martin Cup, Sunday 7th of August, 11am-4pm.

Both competitions are open to Senior & Juvenile unless otherwise stated.
